Matt Mosley, co-host of The Afternoon Show with Cowlishaw and Mosley weekdays
from 3 to 6 p.m. on KESN-FM 103.3, ESPN Radio, answered your questions in a
live chat Friday. Here are some highlights.

Question: What Mavericks free agents would you try to re-sign for 2016-17, if
any?

Matt Mosley: I'd try to land Dirk for starters. Then you almost have to try
to keep Chandler Parsons once he opts out. I'm not in love with Parsons'
future, but what are the alternatives? Dirk doesn't want Dwight Howard coming
here, by the way. I think he'll make that known in his talks with Donnie and
Mark. This team needs a rim protector. But Howard isn't someone you can build
around at this point in his career. You make your best pitch to KD, but that
won't go anywhere.

雖然我不喜歡CP，但在自由市場上有其他更好的選擇嘛?。另外，DIRK不喜歡DH來，我認為
DIRK會在和小尼以及CUBAN的會談中讓他們知道這件事情。這隻球隊需要一個禁區的保護者
，但是但是DH在這個時間點已經不是適合圍繞他打造球隊的時候了。另外，雖然機會渺茫
，但球隊應該去詢問看看KD(最後追kd應該是Mosley自己的看法)

He "highly doubts" Dwight will end up in DAL

The Mavs will not offer remotely close to the money he wants (max at over $30M
AAV)$20M-ish per year is likely what Dwight would have to settle for to land in
DAL

Dirk dislikes Howard. Hate is too strong of a word but it would be a very
"tough pill to swallow" and he is "disappointed" that there is a player as
talented as Dwight but who does not appear to be as professional as you'd hope
he would be

There is a chance Dirk would be willing to swallow the pill of Dwight coming to
Dallas if he shows he is committed and if it makes sense money/team
building-wise (aka far below the max)

Cuban ultimately makes every decision

Dirk has "veto-power" in front office decisions. Dirk wanted Rondo and his
opinion "matters" a lot to Cuban. Dirk basically outvoted Rick who was against
trading for Rondo

Dirk was also very much in favor of acquiring Kidd back in 2008

Steve Nash and JET have told Dirk terrible stories about Dwight

Dirk didn't want to talk about Howard yesterday even though he addressed
potential FA-targets in past exit interviews (Aldridge, CP3, Dwight's first
FA-situation, LeBron, Melo)

Dirk & Cuban fear Dwight is not motivated enough to justify the money it would
take to get him

Getting Dwight is Parsons' plan A, but not necessarily the Mavs' plan A (which
is still TBD)

Parsons does not possess the same influence in the decision making process that
Dirk has

Cuban is very intrigued by Mejri, to the point that they might even be willing
to get by with him as the starter and spend the money elsewhere (targeting
multiple wings in that scenario, Batum then Barnes in that order)

Much better chance that Barnes leaves GS than Batum leaves CHA

If they get Barnes, Parsons and Barnes would likely play at the forward-spots
