BLUES WAIT ON MUTU DECISION

Chelsea will have to wait until before finding out if their claim
of compensation against Adrian Mutu will be successful.
The Blues are attempting to recover some of the ￡16m they paid
Parma for the Romanian after they sacked him last August for testing
positive for cocaine. The Premiership leaders have lodged an appeal to
the Football League and are believed to be looking to win ￡8 million
compensation.
Mutu, who is now at Juventus gave evidence to the Football League
appeals committee along with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, chief executive
Peter Kenyon and a representative from Juventus.
Fifa will have the final say on the case with the player having
three-and-a-half years remaining on his five-year contract before his
sacking they are entitled to some compensation.
The hearing was adjourned on Thursday with a decision set to be made
next week when they reconvene.
