[字辨] Cultivation

  最近在做一個題目，文章句子是

　　As the bourgeoisie grew and increasingly began to participate in the
    cultivation of the arts, simultaneous changes were taking place.


　　問題是　和 Cultivation 最相近的意思是下面那一個字
　　
    (A) Agriculture
    (B) Planting
    (C) Seeds
    (D) Growth

   答案是 D
　
　 但是，為什麼不是 B 呢?
   因為Bourgeouisie(中產階級)應該是拿錢出來培育藝術的人才
   還有，藝術應該是不會成長，而是應該用演變的

   不太能理解這一題
