昨天的中國郵報，剛好有對台灣的颱風假文化寫了一篇文，

People make the most of Typhoon Talim day-off

Despite strong winds and heavy rain from Typhoon Talim, many of the Taiwan people yesterday chose to spend their day off in movie theaters and department stores.
Many stores around the nation decided to delay their opening time until the afternoon yesterday due to Typhoon Talim. However, several major department stores observed regular hours and was swamped with customers.

According to a department store manager, the theater in the building was flooded by people as early as 9:00 a.m. Aside from residents, members of touring groups usually spend their entire day in department store to seek shelter from the storm.

This "typhoon culture" seems to be unique in Taiwan, he quipped.

Because of the increase of consumers, most department stores, including their food court, enjoyed 20 percent more business than usual.

Aside from department stores, hotels around the island also had a boost in their business. Groups of friends, getting a rare day off due to the typhoon, often decide to hold parties in hotel rooms. Along with travelers trapped on the island due to the storm, most of the hotels had no vacancies yesterday.

Hotel managers revealed that, whenever there is a typhoon, the rooms would sell to faster than usual. The restaurants and cafes in the hotels also enjoyed extra revenue by piggybacking on the establishment's increased customers.

在英文上有專有名詞可以用嗎？

還是說有其他表現方法？

        恩 這應該是比較informal的用法吧
        像我們在語言中心的外籍老師，解釋holiday在國外指國定假日，
        像是感恩節、耶誕節等等，
        而且若颱風很嚴重，
        在當地造成傷亡的話，用typhoon holiday似乎不是很妥當。
