  I have interviewed with Google @ 2003. I did not apply to Google but their
  HR sent email to ask me if I wanna to inviterview with them, since it's
  Google. Of course I give it a try.

  My first phone interview is about some basic test, like to reverse a
  string and some about pointer (i forget). They try to ask u to write code,
  therefore, I send my code from email imediately.

  After 2-3 days, I get my 2nd phone interview. This time is more interesting.
  They ask if you get 1 million pages, how can you find 100 most presentive
  pages.

  Then I went to on-site interview which is tiredsome. It's a 1 day long
  interview. Different ppl ask u different area, from concept of assembly to
  C++ class and many data structure and algorithm. However, I did not prepare
  any. I can answer most but not all. They then ask me which area i want to
  work. I told them i want to work on video analysis and I am still
  considering to do my phd (in fact, I am accepted to phd program, therefore,
  i just went to google interview with experience and free trip to CA)

  At the end, they emailed me that their work isn't fit to my interest.
  However, I still think Google's interview is very solide compare to 2
  different companies I interned with before.

  Just for information about how Google do interview. I know many friends in
  Google. If you need more information, I can ask them (for both M.S and P.H.D
  )
