Dementieva will probably be seeded sixth if she is fit
for Wimbledon

Elena Dementieva has suffered an injury setback in her
preparations for Wimbledon, which starts next week.
The Russian was forced to retire from her Ordina Open
second-round match against Denisa Chladova on Tuesday
after damaging a shoulder.

The top seed suffered the injury stretching for a
backhand return when leading 4-1 before eventually
quitting with the set level at 5-5.

Dementieva, 23, is likely to be seeded sixth at
Wimbledon next week.

Her withdrawal from the Ordina Open means compatriot
Nadia Petrova, the second seed, is now the highest-ranked
player in the Dutch event.

In other matches, Michaella Krajicek showed she will be
a threat to the seeded players at Wimbledon as she crushed
Ludmila Cervanova of Slovakia 6-1 6-3.

The Dutch 16-year-old, sister of ex-Wimbledon champion
Richard Krajicek, was never troubled as she set up a
clash with third seed Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain,
who beat Czech Iveta Benesova 6-4 7-6.
