非洲也會下雪?
聳立在坦尚尼亞平原的吉力馬札羅珊,高度有5895公尺,是非洲最高也最有名的山.
而且坦尚尼亞平原上除了吉力馬札羅山外,幾乎沒有其他的山,因此更顯得這座山脈
的高聳與神秘.
吉力馬札羅山是因為200萬年前的火山爆發後才形成的,當人們站在平地眺望這座
山時,只覺得山頂是覆蓋著白雪的圓錐狀模樣;不過其實它的最高峰~基博峰,卻與其
他山峰形成一個中間凹陷的地形呢!
由於吉力馬札羅山的高度太高,所以氣候的變化非常大,當從印度洋吹過來的風碰
上高山後,就會降下雨和雪,所以當地的人們才會用"吉力馬札羅",也就是"閃亮的山"
來稱呼它哦!此外,也因為高山阻擋了氣流,所以附近的草原才能因此獲得充足的雨水
,而生長出各種植物喔!

The tallest and the most famous mountain in Africa, Kilimanjaro Mountain,
rises high and erect on Tanzania Champaign. The Mountain stands at an
atitude of 5895 meters. Besides Kilimanjaro Mountain, there are almost no
other mountain around Tanzania Champaign, which sets off the height and
mystery of Kilimanjaro Mountain.
An eruption two millions ago errected Kilimanjaro Mountain.When people
stand in the champaign and survey the mountain, they feel the mointain top
looks like a cirucu;ar cone covered with snow. But actually the highest
peak of the mountains, 基博峰(不知道從該哪找起的字...orz), is a kind of
concave terrain made of other mountains' peaks.
Because the latitude of Kilimanjaro is too high, there are great changes
in climate. When the wind blows from Indian Ocean to these high mountains,
rain and snow fall. That's why the residents over there call it
"Kilimanjaro", which means "the shining mountains." Beside, because the
mountains stop tje airflow, the nearby grassland get enough rain water to
