The former Roma youth wants to return to the capital should he leave
Palermo...
Palermo goalkeeper Marco Amelia is trying to stay focussed on the present
rather than the future, but he has admitted that he would like to join Roma
at some point during his career.
The second choice Italian stopper has been in top form for his side this
season. His performances in between the sticks have allowed his team to
challenge for the European places.
Reports coming from the Italian capital claim Roma's Alexander Doni could be
on his way out at the end of the season. Amelia has been linked with the
Giallorossi and he has admitted that he would not be able to say no if they
came knocking on his door.
"I have not though about that yet," Amelia told Il Corriere Dello Sport. “
Everyone knows that there is one team that I like and that I couldn't say no
to, and that is Roma.
"I am fine at Palermo, but you never know what can happen in the transfer
market. If I get a call from Roma then I will think about it.
"Sooner or later I will return to wearing the Roma shirt. I am attached to
the shirt so much it stopped me from joining Lazio two years ago."
