believed...
Roma's Simone Perrotta could be the first player out of Trigoria this summer
as the club consider selling him to curb their expenditure on player wages,
according to reports in Italy.
The former Chievo Verona midfielder's current deal expires in 2010, but the
club have failed to offer him a new contract. With the risk of losing him on
a free transfer next season realistic, Romagiallorossa.com claims the club
will consider cashing in on the Italian international.
The report suggests Roma could sell Perrotta in order to curb spending on
player wages and balance the books. The latest news comes just a week after
speculation arose implying that the Lupi were preparing for a summer
clear-out in order to bring in some money.
Perotta joined the Giallorossi in 2004 and he has been a regular starter in
Luciano Spalletti's XI. However, all that could end if the transfer gossip
takes off.
Meanwhile Roma got their Champions League hopes back on track following their
narrow 3-2 win at home against Lecce.
