Adriano: I Would Like To Play At Roma Alongside Francesco Totti
The Brazilian has set the stage for a potential return to European football...
Flamengo striker Adriano left Inter midway through last season after going
through a difficult period personally and professionally, but has claimed he
could return to Serie A in the near future, albeit with a different side.
But he did explain that his departure had nothing to do with Nerazzurri coach
Jose Mourinho.
"When I see Inter play, I still cheer for them," he admitted to Sky TG 24.
"I had no problems with Mourinho. He helped me a lot. He treated me well and
sometimes badly if he wanted to stimulate me.
"Did I try to join Roma? Yes, I had talked with them, but right now I'm only
thinking about Flamengo and the World Cup. But after that I may return to
Italy. Certainly, Rome is a great city with a great team. I'd like to play
with Francesco Totti."
The 28-year-old scored an impressive 19 goals in 30 appearances for Flamengo
in 2009.
