The 5th Oxbridge Taiwan Science and Technology Symposium

Cambridge Taiwanese Society (CTS) is delighted to announce the 5th
Oxford-Cambridge Taiwan Science and Technology Symposium to be held
on the 23rd-24th (Sat/Sun) of June 2012. This symposium will be
co-hosted by CTS, Taipei Representative Office in the UK Science &
Technology Division and Oxford University Taiwanese Student Society
(OUTSS).
This two-day symposium aims to allow junior researchers from Cambridge
and Oxford, such as DPhil/PhD students in their penultimate or last
year to share their research with their peers. In this perspective, we
are welcoming abstracts from all fields of study, including the natural
sciences, social sciences, humanities and business studies. Proposals
should be based on a 20-min presentation followed by a 10-min Q&A. As
the purpose of this event resides in the dissemination of research
conducted by Taiwanese researchers, the information presented should be
geared towards a general audience.
This Annual symposium provides Oxbridge students with an invaluable
opportunity not only to receive feedbacks on their academic research,
but also, to build bridges between different fields of study. In
addition, this event also represents a good networking opportunity
between the students of the two leading universities in the United
Kingdom.
Proposals, which should be no longer than 200 words, will be selected
by the Science and Technology Division of the Taipei Representative
Office in the UK, and can be sent directly to Ms. 瑜華 at:

Deadline for abstracts: 11th May, 2012
Should you wish to attend the conference, there will be a small
registration fee of GBP 5, which includes tea breaks, breakfast and
lunch on Sunday. In addition, an optional dinner will be organised on
the 23rd of June for GBP 15. To register for the event, please
