The GeoSensor Web Lab at University of Calgary (CANADA) is looking for
a postdoctoral fellow. Candidates should have strong interests in sensor
web and distributed geographical information systems.
Successful candidates will work on an exciting large scale project to
build a fully distributed (e.g., p2p overlay network based) GIS system
with OGC-based sensor web interfaces, as well as a social network
platform for environmental sensing. Interested applicants need to have
a solid background in GIScience or Computer Science. Strong knowledge
in p2p overlay networks and SOA architecture is desired. Excellent
programming skills, preferably in Java/C#, are desired. Experiences
in OGC standards (e.g., OGC Sensor Web Enablement) and web programming
(e.g., AJAX, JQuery, PHP, or Ruby on Rails) will be a plus.
The maximum contract term can be two years. Salary is pending on
candidate’s experiences. Benefits, such as drug plan and dental,
will be included in the package.
Interested candidates please contact Dr. Steve Liang.
