Original URL: http://ppt.cc/Nrkl Green Templeton College, Oxford (2 Posts) 3 year fixed term contract to commence 1st October 2010 First year salary £23,000 + £5,810 housing allowance (Ref: GTC-13) The responsibility of a Junior Research Fellow is to engage in independent scholarly research and to take part in and contribute to the intellectual and social life of the College. The nature and direction of the research undertaken will be wholly at the discretion of the Junior Research Fellow, but the College will appoint an academic mentor to provide support and advice. The College has strong links with the Sa?d Business School (www.sbs.ox.ac.uk), which provides a departmental setting within Oxford for research and training in management studies. The main interests represented by the current Fellowship at Green Templeton College are broadly in fields such as education, criminology, history and anthropology of medicine, healthcare and public health, ageing, social policy, science and technology studies, medicine, environment, international development, management studies, and communication media. The College has a strong commitment to scholarship that impacts human welfare, interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary research, and the engagement of academia with practice. The Junior Research Fellowships are intended for scholars from any country, who at the time of taking up the Fellowships will have completed, or be very close to the completion of, a doctoral thesis, or be at a comparable point in a research career. The doctoral research of candidates should be relevant to important topics or methodological issues in the field of management studies, and the proposed research to be undertaken as a Junior Research Fellow is expected to constitute a significant contribution to the field. In disciplinary terms the field of applicants is not restricted to business or management studies, and candidates from across the social sciences are very much encouraged to apply. Consideration will also be given to candidates pursuing relevant research with doctorates in the humanities and natural sciences. To be eligible, candidates should not by that date have spent more than a total of eight years in postgraduate study and/or in employment in a teaching or research post, nor should they have previously held a research fellowship similar to that advertised for more than one year.
