KANSAS CITY -- Albert Pujols' blistering home run pace isn't losing any steam
Back in Kansas City, where he starred as a high school and college player,
Pujols lined a two-run homer to straightaway center field in the fourth
inning Friday night to become the fastest to 20 home runs for any Major
League player.
After getting a day off on Thursday, the Cardinals first baseman
delivered the first big blow in leading St. Louis back from an early
5-0 deficit.Scott Spiezio led off the Cardinals fourth with a
bunt single and Pujols measured the soft offerings from Royals
left-hander Mark Redman before his laser shot cleared the wall in center.
Pujols hit his 20th homer in just the 42nd game for the Cardinals.
He set a Major League record with 14 homers in April.
