The Angels won, 9-0, in the first game of their Interleague series with
the Dodgers in front of 54,543 on Friday night, but they lost the heart of
their lineup when Vladimir Guerrero left the game with a jammed left
shoulder.
The 2004 American League MVP was waved home by third-base coach Ron Roenicke
on Steve Finley's fifth-inning double into the right-field corner, and he
sustained the injury when he made a head-first slide to try to avoid the tag
of Dodgers catcher Jason Phillips, who made the out to end the inning.
X-rays were taken but results were not immediately known.
