ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA (TICKER) —The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Friday agreed to terms with reliever Darren Oliver on a one-year contract. The deal, worth $3.65 million, enabled the Angels to avoid an arbitration hearing with Oliver, who posted a 7-1 record with a 2.88 ERA in 54 games out of the bullpen last season. The wins and ERA were career bests for Oliver as a reliever. The lefthander also has been used as a starter during his 16-year career. Oliver, 38, broke into the majors in 1993 with Texas and also has played for St. Louis, Boston, Colorado, Florida, Houston and the New York Mets. In 466 career games, including 228 starts, Oliver is 101-82 with 11 complete games, four shutouts, two saves and a 4.84 ERA. The Angels have four remaining players who are arbitration eligible: righthander Ervin Santana, catcher Mike Napoli, shortstop Maicer Izturis and third baseman Robb Quinlan. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 218.171.145.250
