http://0rz.tw/teFBm Angels send Kendrick down; Izturis new second baseman Maicer Izturis'(notes) got four hits Friday night. Howie Kendrick(notes) got a ticket to Triple-A Salt Lake. Izturis had a hit in each of his four at-bats to match a career high and will now get a chance to start at second base, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.Kendrick, who had struggled all season but looked to be slowly turning a corner this month, will now have to continue to make progress in the minor leagues. A corresponding roster move will be made today, the Daily News reported. "You never want to hear that type of news, but it's positive," said Kendrick, who is batting .231 this season. "I need to go down and work on things and I'll be back. I just have to go down and find that fire again. I'm trying to find myself as a hitter again." Kendrick entered this season a career .306 hitter in the major leagues. Izturis wasn't exactly hitting the cover off the ball before Friday, batting .259. He was batting .269 in June after hitting .193 in May. One part of Izturis' game that Scioscia would like to tap into is the switch hitter's .326 career batting average with runners in scoring position. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.64.143.123
