Maradona reveals Boca job offer
Diego Maradona has revealed he was offered the opportunity to become the next
coach of Boca Juniors, but the Argentine legend believes the time is not
right for his return to the Buenos Aires club.

Boca are on the lookout for a new coach following Alfio Basile's elevation to
Argentine national team manager, a position vacated by Jose Pekerman.

Maradona had been tipped in some circles to take up the Boca role but he has
now confirmed that he declined the opportunity - though he thanked Boca
president Mauricio Macri for considering him for the position.

The Argentine legend has now backed Mexico's Ricardo LaVolpe to become the
side's new coach.

"I had a meeting on Saturday with Mauricio Macri in which he offered me the
chance of becoming Boca's coach," said Maradona.

wanted me to be the coach but I think that this is not the time.
