Ayala prepared for exit

Roberto Ayala looks to be on his way to Villarreal at the season's close,
with his agent having grown exasperated by Valencia's reticence to begin
contract negotiations.

The robust Argentine's existing deal at Valencia expires in the summer and it
would appear he is readying himself for one final move.

Ayala has long been established as one of the best defenders currently
playing in Europe but it would appear Valencia are preparing for life without
the South American.

His agent, Gustavo Mascardi, has confirmed that Villarreal look in pole
position to land his player's services for next season.

"The officials of Valencia haven't got in touch with me for renewing Ayala's
contract so it's very possible that he will not continue playing in this
team," said Mascardi.

"To make a decision there are two options, what I think and what Ayala
thinks, and my decision is to make him play at Villarreal because it's me who
has to handle the negotiation.

"In addition to that, there isn't another proposal, neither from Valencia nor

with him.
