According to reports, Redknapp has contacted Gallas' agent to ask if the
France international would join Tottenham this week amid a defensive injury
crisis at White Hart Lane.

Gallas left Spurs' north London rivals at the end of last season after
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger refused to buckle to his wage demands.

The 32-year-old has so far failed to find a new club, despite reported
interest from a variety of clubs including Real Madrid, Panathinaikos, and a
number of teams in the Middle East and the United States.

Spurs could begin the season with a shortage of centre-halves, with long-term
injury concerns over both Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate.

This has led Redknapp to enquire about what would be a shock transfer between
the two teams - especially as Gallas left the Emirates Stadium after failing
to agree terms with the traditionally richer of the two north London teams.

Gallas is thought to have been demanding around ￡90,000 a week from any
potential suitors this summer, although Redknapp is hopeful he will
compromise to stay in the capital.

The offer of Champions League football, which Spurs will enjoy if they can
beat Swiss side Young Boys over two legs later this month, is also expected
to be a draw for Gallas.

Redknapp already looks to have missed out on a number of defensive transfer
targets this summer, including Fulham's Brede Hangeland and Micah Richards of
Manchester City.

However, the acquisition of Gallas - who remains one of the top-rated
defenders in Europe despite his advancing years - would be regarded as a
major coup by the Spurs board and coaching staff.

加拉要求￡90,000週薪且希望有兩年約，但刺刺可能只願意給一年約
(如果到最後只簽一年約又跑去白鹿巷，實在很OOXX....)

另外刺隊的某人前幾天說如果他們成功晉級歐冠小組賽的話，會比槍手走得更遠
因為熱刺的陣容「更有競爭力」
