With limited opportunities in Arsène Wenger’s side at present, Ramsey
insists he will do anything to work his way back into the team and if that
means a temporary switch, then so be it. And he has pledged to be ready for
selection upon his return.
“If going out on loan again for a month to get a few more games helps me get
back into shape quicker and into the Arsenal team then I will do that,”
Ramsey said ahead of his move.
“I just want to get back to playing regularly and get back into the Arsenal
team as quickly as I can.
“I feel good and my fitness is good. I’ve worked hard on it, I just need to
get back into the swing of things, play some games and get my mind switched
back on to the atmosphere of a game.”
Cardiff have a possible seven games until the 20-year-old is due to return on
February 26, including a trip to Nottingham Forest where Ramsey spent five
weeks in a similar deal at the turn of the year.
“I’ve been out for such a long time, like I said I just want to get some
game time. My goals are to get a few games in, get back to where I was and
get back into the Arsenal team on a regular basis.”

Aaron Ramsey on choosing football over rugby and Arsenal over Man United

One of Arsenal’s most promising youngsters, midfielder Aaron Ramsey is
finally back, fully recovered from the horrible injury suffered at Stoke and
ready to take full advantage of his second loan spell this season.
Loaned out to Cardiff City this month, the Welshman confessed he was doing
well in both rugby and football as a child and how he had to take an
important decision on what sport to choose for his professional career at the
tender age of eight with football his preferred option despite the interest
from a number of rugby scouts.
Asked why he joined the Gunners with Manchester United and Everton both
interested as well, the 20-year old revealed a meeting with Arsene Wenger was
the reason why he opted for the Gunners as the Frenchman is renowned for his
work with young players.
Speaking of the injury suffered at the Britannia Stadium, the midfielder
admitted it was the most negative period of his career, asking questions such
as whether he would ever play again as he concluded by saying how the support
of the fans, family and friends helped him during the difficult recovery
process.
On his early days and the injury, Ramsey said:
I started off playing rugby when I was eight and I thought I wanted to
try football so I tried football and they both got in the way of each other
so I made a decision at that age, chose football [and just] played rugby a
few times for my school.
There were a couple of scouts watching who were interested but I was
playing for Cardiff at the time and there was no way I was going to go back
playing rugby.
I met Arsene Wenger and had a chat about things. His thoughts and where
he wanted me to go were encouraging. He gives youngsters opportunities so I
think I made the right decision.
[Last year] was a good season for me. I was playing well, enjoying my
football but then the injury happened. That was a big blow for me, I’ve
coped pretty well, had good support from everyone, the fans and the family.
Things start going through your mind such if you’re going to play again,
if it was my last game. But I was reassured pretty quickly that it was a
fixable thing so I took the positives out of it, took my mind off football
for a while and then you start to miss it again and just want to get back out
there again and do what you do best.
