Moyes accuses 'disgusting' Cesc

A furious David Moyes has claimed that Cesc Fabregas should have been sent
off at half-time in Arsenal's victory over Everton as a result of the
Spaniard's allegedly 'disgusting' comments to match officials.

The Gunners maintained their Premier League title challenge by coming from
behind to collect a 2-1 victory, but the match was overshadowed by
controversy at Emirates Stadium.

Referee Lee Mason and assistant Stephen Child allowed Louis Saha to open the
scoring in the first half, despite the Frenchman taking advantage of an
apparent offside position.

Arsenal, who hit back in the second half through Andrey Arshavin and Laurent
Koscielny, were furious and Everton boss Moyes has accused the home side's
captain, Fabregas, of overstepping the mark at half-time.

When asked about his disappointment at conceding the two goals, Moyes instead
decided to say to Sky Sports in his post-match interview: "I think at
half-time in the tunnel was the worst.

"Fabregas should have been sent off in the tunnel for his comments about the
officials. It was disgusting.

"I won't be repeating them, but maybe someone will."

Moyes, when asked to explain, added: "No I won't. I'll just say that he
should have been sent off for his comments to the officials coming up the
tunnel."

Moyes agreed that Everton's opener should not have stood, despite Koscielny
deflecting Seamus Coleman's pass to Saha, but that could not hide the Scot's
overall disappointment.

Everton have now lost 13 of their last 15 Premier League trips to Arsenal and
sit at the wrong end of the table with 27 points from 24 matches.

Moyes, who was only able to sign Greek youngster Apostolos Vallios and loanee
Eric Dier in January, said: "It was a tough game for us. We got in front,
deservedly so, albeit Arsenal had one or two chances.

"But I am just disappointed."

Wenger denies Fabregas outburst

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has denied that captain Cesc Fabregas verbally
abused the match officials at half-time in Tuesday's victory over Everton.

David Moyes, Everton's manager, has claimed that Spain international Fabregas
should have been sent off for using 'disgusting' language towards referee Lee
Mason in the Emirates Stadium tunnel.

The alleged incident took place in the fallout of Louis Saha's controversial
first-half opener against Arsenal, who eventually hit back to win through
Andrey Arshavin and Laurent Koscielny in the second half.

Fabregas and his team-mates were left seething after Mason and assistant
Stephen Child allowed Saha's goal to stand, despite an apparent offside
position, but Wenger has denied that his skipper behaved inappropriately at
the interval.

When informed that Moyes was less than happy, Wenger told Sky Sports in his
post-match interview: "I was next to Cesc Fabregas at half-time. I don't see
why you can be furious with him.

Wenger insisted that Saha's goal should not have stood, but he was pleased
with the character that his side displayed in maintaining their pursuit of
Manchester United in the Premier League title race.

The Arsenal boss said: "It was a big win for us, down to spirited attitude
and performance. Overall we have shown a great desire again tonight."
