Fabregas - I've not played in a better game
Cesc Fabregas has played in hundreds of games for club and country - but none
as good as Wednesday night's Champions League classic.
The Arsenal captain was in the thick of the action as his team hit back from
David Villa's first-half strike to beat Barcelona 2-1 with two late goals at
Emirates Stadium. Robin van Persie fired in from a narrow angle to haul the
Gunners level before Andrey Arshavin grabbed the winner after Fabregas'
superb pass had picked out the run of Samir Nasri.
Fabregas and his team-mates celebrated at the final whistle and the
23-year-old was still buzzing when he spoke to reporters as he left the
ground.
"It's a massive victory," he said.
"For me it's the best game I've experienced in terms of quality and
intensity. They had the ball, they went for it. We had the ball, we went for
it. For me, I've never experienced a game with so much quality on the pitch
from both teams.
"It was the right result and it was definitely uplifting. We are in the Final
of the Carling Cup, we have the FA Cup coming on Sunday and two games coming
up before the second leg. I'm hoping this will be good for the team because
since the New Year we haven't lost any games.
"Apart from the disappointment against Newcastle we've won everything. At the
moment we're on a good run and we want to keep it going."
Fabregas and his team will head to the Nou Camp on March 8 for the decisive
second leg of their last-16 tie. And the former Barcelona midfielder knows
there is still plenty of work to do.
"The second leg will be very difficult and we have to perform very well," he
said. "They will go out to win and we want to attack. You never know what can
happen in this type of game. We will have to play
our hearts out.
"But we want to prove we can win a trophy like this one. There are 90 minutes
to go and we're playing against a big team. If you want to beat them you have
to give everything."

Wilshere - Best night of my Arsenal career
Jack Wilshere capped a crazy few weeks with the “best night of his Arsenal
career” on Wednesday.
It’s been a whirlwind season for the 19-year-old midfielder who was man of
the match against Barcelona after going toe-to-toe with Spanish World Cup
winners Xavi and Andreas Iniesta.
Wilshere made his full England debut against Denmark on February 9 and
followed that with an instrumental performance for his club side to help give
Arsenal a vital 2-1 win on a hair-raising night at Emirates Stadium.
“It’s been a crazy couple of weeks, probably the best couple of weeks of my
life,” he said. “It’s the biggest night of my Arsenal career so far.
“Definitely, without a doubt [Barcelona are the best team I’ve ever played
against], with players like Xavi, Iniesta and [Lionel] Messi. I’ve been
watching those players for years.
“By far it’s the biggest night of my Arsenal career so far, like I said,
[but] we’ve still got a job to do at the Nou Camp.”
