Arsène Wenger believes that Arsenal have the "desire and strength"
to deal with the loss of Cesc Fabregas.

溫格相信我們擁有"渴望及力量"面對失去CESC

The Spaniard ended an eight-year spell in North London by agreeing to
join Barcelona on Sunday night.  Ahead of the Champions League tie with
Udinese, the Arsenal manager spelt out that, in the end, the deal was
driven by the player's wish to return to his hometown club.

這名西班牙人結束了在槍手的八年生涯，這筆交易，是由於球員希望回到
他的家鄉俱樂部。

"We lost a world-class player and we are sad about that," said Wenger.
"We fought to keep him but in the end we have to respect the desire of
the player as well. This Club is 125 years-old this season and many big
players left and yet the Club went on. We want to show that we have the
strengths and unity to fight as we ever did at this Club.

"It was my decision and I submitted that decision to the board
and to the chairman.

"Everybody has his opinion but, at the end of the day, you have to
make decisions. To get the best out of a player, he needs to be
completely committed to where he is and Cesc wanted to go back to
his home city.

"每個人都有他的意見，但最終，你必須做出決定，為了成為一名更佳的球員

"But if you understand one thing, it is Cesc did not go for financial
reasons, or that he did not love this Club. Cesc went because he was
desperate to play for his hometown team, where he was educated. It is
very difficult to resist to that.

Arsène Wenger believes the fee for Cesc Fabregas would have been
higher if he had been sold on the "open market".

溫格相信CESC在公開市場值更高的價格

The former Arsenal captain left for Barcelona on Monday in a deal
reportedly worth around ￡35million. Wenger says that the Club held
out for as long as it could to get the best possible fee for the
midfielder but admits that Fabregas' refusal to consider other
destinations kept the price down.

CESC轉會價格差不多為￡35M。槍手想要得到更好的價格，但他也承認，
CESC拒絕轉會其他俱樂部，使價格很低。

"If he was on the market to any club we would have got more money but
we did want to get a decent fee," said Wenger. "That's what I'm paid for.

如果在市場上其他任何俱樂部，我們會得到更好的價格，我們確實想要得到一個
合理的數字。

"You cannot say because you want to get the deal done as quickly
as possible: 『Just take him and give us what you want'. You have to
fight for your rights.

"If Cesc is for sale and you can make an auction between Real Madrid,
Chelsea and Manchester City, you will certainly get more money, but he
just wanted to go to Barcelona.

如果CESC可以賣給皇馬、切爾西、曼城，一定會拿到更多的錢，但他只想去巴薩。

"We didn't even try [to encourage other clubs to bid] because we did
not want to sell the player. Our desire was to keep the player."

我們甚至沒有嘗試鼓勵其他俱樂部出價，因為我們不想賣掉CESC。

Fabregas was fulsome in his praise for Wenger when he faced the media in
Barcelona on Monday. His former manager repaid the compliment when he spoke
to reporters back in London.

"Cesc has given us eight years and it was a pleasure to work with him
on a daily basis," said Wenger.

"It was a pleasure to watch him - every day - to play football. And I'm sure
it was a pleasure for you as well to watch him play. So that's part of life.
Maybe he will come back one day to the Club, you never know."

CESC給了我們八年，跟他一起工作是種享受。
