Rangers agreed to terms with RHP Akinori Otsuka on a one-year, $3 million
contract.
Otsuka didn't get an out clause at the end of the deal he signed with the
Padres after coming over from Japan, so he won't be a free agent until after
2009. Still, he's not going to be hurting in arbitration. The Rangers intend
to put Otsuka back in a setup role this year unless they trade him in spring
training.
