To help me get used to playing again, I plan to see if I can stand in the
bullpen before games at Tropicana Field -- like I'm in the batter's box --
when the starting pitchers do their bullpen sessions between starts. I won't
be swinging at what they throw, but that way, I can get my eye ready for
picking up the baseball again. You never think about how fast a ball is
coming in until you're away from the game for a while. Real live pitching
takes some getting used to.
