Center fielder Ichiro Suzuki extended his hitting streak to a career-high 24
games, and the Mariners used an early seven-run lead to beat the Rangers,
9-5, on Thursday night in front of 20,137 at Safeco Field.
Suzuki went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and could set a new club record if he
records a hit on Friday. Joey Cora hit safely in 24 straight games in 1997.
