Right-hander Ezequiel Astacio will be called up Wednesday to start against
the Pirates.
The Astros may have considered Wandy Rodriguez as Brandon Duckworth's
replacement, but Astacio is the safer choice, despite his 4.63 in four starts
for Triple-A Round Rock. The 25-year-old may be ready to be an average fifth
starter, though little more than that should be expected for now. Only NL-only
leaguers desperate for strikeouts need grab him immediately. Everyone else
should take a wait-and-see approach.
