[新聞] 新航啓動機隊汰換計畫

向來走在時代潮流尖端的新航又有新的動作了。


本次大動作如下：

1. 增訂5架A380、20架A350，預計2017年交機。現有營運19架A380以及20架A350訂單。

2. 汰換A340-500客機，這次協議中購買A350來換取處分。

3. 原先訂購的B787-9客機將移轉給酷航使用。

4. 預計明年第四季停止SIN-LAX以及SIN-EWR nonstop service。不過現有SIN-NRT-LAX以
   及SIN-FRA-JFK以A380飛行，已經是擴大容量後的結果。

Singapore Airlines (SIA) is ordering five more Airbus A380 superjumbos and 20
A350s in a deal worth US$7.5 billion to grow its capacity and for fleet renewal
, the airline said on Wednesday.

Deliveries are due to begin in 2017, the airline said in a statement.

The airline currently operates 19 A380 superjumbos and already had firm orders
 in place for 20 A350s, for delivery from 2015.

SIA said the A350s are intended for use on medium and long-haul routes.

As part of the deal, SIA said Airbus will acquire its five A340-500s, which
will be removed from service in the fourth quarter of the 2013.

The airline said it will cease non-stop flights between Singapore and Los
Angeles and between Singapore and Newark in view of a lack of replacement
aircraft in its fleet with "sufficient range and operating economics".

SIA CEO Goh Choon Phong said: "Although (it is) disappointing that we will be
 halting these services, we remain very committed to the US market. Over the
past two years we have increased capacity to both Los Angeles and New York by
deploying A380 superjumbos on flights via Tokyo and Frankfurt. We will also
continue to explore additional options to enhance our US services,"

In the statement, SIA also added that its Scoot unit will acquire 20 Boeing
787 aircraft to support its growth plans.
