PHOTO: Boeing Completes the First Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner
Previously, we have seen photos of the first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner (ZB001)
taken while dark out, but now we get to see the aircraft in the light of day.
Yesterday, the first 787-9 Dreamliner rolled out of the factory and was towed
to the flight line, where Boeing will prepare the aircraft for its first
flight later this summer. After the test flights are completed, the first
787-9 is expected to be delivered to Air New Zealand by mid-2014.
The 787-9 is 20 feet longer than the 787-8, allowing the aircraft to carry an
additional 40 passengers and fly an extra 300 nautical miles. A typical
configuration for the 787-8 can hold between 210-250 passengers, the 787-9
can carry 250-290 and the larger 787-10 will hold about 300-330.

今年初的電池過熱自燃問題讓波音科技含量最高的787機型可靠性受到了質疑，但好在這
一輪風波在波音提出新的升級方案後告一段落。同時，對於波音來說，787系列客機依舊
被視作爭奪未來遠程客運航空市場的利器，因此該系列後續機型仍在不斷研發製造。
今年6月份，波音公司宣布首架787-9客機開始進入總裝階段，並在隨後的7月末首次展示
了該型號客機的官方塗裝。今天來自官方的最新消息表明，首架787-9客機已經順利完成
建造，預計2014年中交付全球首個客戶——新西蘭航空公司。
據介紹，787系列作為波音公司所研製的新一代寬體客機而使用了眾多新技術，其中除了
更加先進的引擎之外，787客機在機身材料方面也大量採用碳纖維複合材料來代替以往的
航空鋁，從而降低了機身重量，達到減少油耗的目的。
從官方公佈的資料來看，787-9是目前該系列中最大的一款機型，其比現有機型長出20英
尺（約6米），能夠多裝載40名乘客，續航距離增加300英里（約合483公里）。現役787-8
客機載客人數為210人至250人，續航距離為14200至15200公里）。同時，在燃油經濟性方
面，787-9將比其它同等級客機節省20%的燃油消耗。
目前，波音公司已經在今年6月中旬開啟了體型更大的787-10客機研發，按計劃該機型會
在2018年正式亮相。目前787-10已經收到了來自全球五家航空公司超過100架的訂單，而
787-9客機的訂單總量已經達到355架，佔據該系列飛機訂單總量的40%。
