[新聞] 土航CEO接受彭博專訪:將開航舊金山及台北

土航CEO前幾天接受彭博專訪:

將開航舊金山(mid-April, 2015) 及台北 (舊金山之後) 
(will add San Francisco in mid April, and Taipei later in 2015,)

這大概是近日關於土航是否開航台北之最權威及來自官方口中第一手訊息.

據我所知,台-土仍未簽訂正式航約, 但土航CEO此談話,或許暗示近期有望達成
談判多年的 ASA (Air Service Agreement).

當然,再根據去年訊息,TPE-IST route 應該有望也讓長榮加入聯營.


最後, 要再提醒一下,能否2015暑假開航, 完全仰賴下面這句話.

Oil Drop Means Cheaper Fares as Turkish Air Seeks Expansion

Turkish Airlines (THYAO), the carrier that flies to more destinations than
any other in the world, will use oil’s drop as an opportunity to cut prices,
expand its destination map and increase market share, its chairman said.

Promotional tickets targeted at budget-minded travelers will help lift
revenue by about 20 percent next year, Turkish Airlines Chairman Hamdi Topçu
said in an interview on a flight en route to London from Istanbul, where the
airline is based.

Turkish Air has expanded its global reach, serving 264 destinations, the most
worldwide. Topcu said the carrier will add San Francisco in mid April, and
Taipei later in 2015, as well as additional destinations in Africa and Latin
America. “We’ve decided on these, we’re working on the bureaucracy and
licenses.”

Direct flights

Another issue on the agenda is the start of direct flights between Istanbul
and Taipei. Now, flights between the two countries are carried out through
Hong Kong or Bangkok, and it means a loss of more than five hours for
businessmen. Thus, in 2012, Turkish Airlines opened an offline office in
Taipei despite having no direct flights.

First, THY, an alliance member of
Star Airlines, and Eva Airlines are scheduled to launch joint flights. Then,
both companies are expected to implement direct flights between Istanbul and
Taipei. 

In October 2013 Taiwan signed an aviation agreement with Russia to
start direct flights. Again, a similar direct-flight arrangement between
Dubai and Taipei is expected with Emirates Airlines in 2014.
