基金會提出了國際反恐同日的目標或目的有：


促進人與人之間的和諧關係，不論其性傾向;

同性戀更加被社會接受;

鼓勵人民認識性傾向的多樣性;

杜絕性傾向歧視

引發人們對多樣性以及其他相關的價值觀的開放態度

告訴大眾恐同症的破壞性影響;

提出並實施具體的手段來對抗恐同症;

協同認同同性戀者舉辦活動打擊恐同症;

The International Day Against Homophobia, held on May 17 every year, is a

rallying event offering an opportunity for people to get together and reach

out to one another. Fondation Émergence promotes, mainly on a pan-Canadian

level, the International Day Against Homophobia and encourages organisations

and individuals to highlight this event in their environment.
