Price: No, the Blazers aren't looking to trade Shareef. I think they want to keep their options open, especially with Zach coming up on free agency at the end of this season. Right now, if the Blazers wanted to trade Zach and keep Shareef, they would only be able to trade Zach at the value of his current contract, which is well below his market value. If they wait until next summer, they can work a sign-and-trade deal, where they sign him for what he's worth and trade for a player of similar value. Or they could sign him and keep him, and then go ahead and trade Shareef, or do work the same sign-and-trade scenario with him. Shareef has been one of Portland's best players during the exhibition season, and I'm guessing that he will start at small forward and that Darius will come off the bench. That is the way Cheeks has been working them so far, and I suspect he will continue to use them that way. Some people have suggested that maybe Shareef should start at power forward and Darius start at small forward with Zach coming off the bench, but that's never going to happen. Zach will always be the starting power forward. So, your starters will be Randolph, Abdur-Rahim, Ratliff, Anderson and Stoudamire. The primary reserves are Miles, Pryzbilla, Frahm and Van Exel, and then Patterson, Outlaw and Telfair will be used as needed. Stepania probably will start the season on the injured list, and I think the Blazers will have to put Khryapa on the injured list, too. That's 14 players. My guess is that the team will leave Woods on the suspended list and that eventually he will be waived. I'm also guessing that the Blazers will cut Geno Carlisle before the start of the regular season, although they might have room for him if they cut Woods before next Wednesday. The Blazers are improved, but I don't know if they have kept pace with some of the teams around them, such as Denver, Phoenix, Houston and Utah. Those teams look better, too. I think Minnesota, San Antonio, Sacramento are locks to make the playoffs, followed by Dallas, Denver, Houston and the Lakers. I could be wrong about the Lakers, who may have fallen more than I suspect after losing Shaq, but my guess is that there are four teams -- Balzers, Grizzlies, Jazz and Suns -- that will be in a close battle for that last spot. I'm not giving Seattle, Golden State or the LA Clippers little chance of reaching the playoffs. Anyway, thanks for the message. Talk to you again soon, I'm sure. Cheers, Jim -- 希望這個球季一直能跟他保持聯絡,上次真是虎頭蛇尾 >"< -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.228.195.213
