Part III - Blake's first-hand account of Greg Oden

Like many, I have been one who has touted Greg Oden as an immediate, impact
player for the Blazers this season - especially after watching him workout
twice this month.

跟很多人一樣，我(Jason Quick)是其中一個立刻去觀看Greg Oden復出的人，這位在這季

But it's not so much what I have seen that convinces me as much as what I am
hearing from some pretty knowledgeable people in the league.

Take the opinions of those media types who have seen Oden workout - and
especially the opinions of those who haven't seen Oden workout - with a grain
of salt. They are media. Contrary to what many of us want to believe, we
don't know all that much - we just get access to those who do know what they
are talking about.

What I like is hearing first-hand from the players what they think of Oden.
That, friends, carries some weight. And perhaps nobody outside of Channing
Frye has been working out with the big guy as much as Steve Blake.

我從其他球員第一手得到他們對Oden的想法是，他變更重了。而也許除了Frye之外，沒有
人像Blake一樣一起與Oden練習那麼多的時間。

Now, keep in mind that Blake is never one to use hyperbole or to blow smoke.
Yet, the Blazers point guard is practically drooling for the season to open
so he can play with Oden.

"Working out with Greg the last couple of days - you can't help but get
excited,'' Blake said. "You throw a bad pass on a lob and you think it's too
high, but he grabs it and gets it. That changes a lot of things.''

Blake said he is most impressed by Oden's size and with how Oden knows how to
use it.

"His explosiveness with his size is unlike anything I have ever seen,'' Blake
said.

"He's special. Special. I have played with a lot of good big guys ... I
haven't really played with him in a game yet, but even when he played with us
before he got hurt, he just moves people ou t of the way. You see another guy
6-foot-10, 250 pounds or something, and he can't even hold his ground against
him. There's not too many guys you can find like that.''

"他很特別，真的很特別，我過去和很多大個子球員打過球...我還沒跟他搭配過一場比賽
，但當他還沒受傷前和我們一起打球的時候，他可以撞開所有人清出一條路。你可以看到
一個6尺10吋，250磅的球員沒辦法穩穩的站住自己的位置來對抗他。這點你無法找到其他
人能做到像這樣。"

Blake said he still thinks back to the September scrimmages last summer, when
Oden played with many on the team before hurting his right knee.

Blake說他還能夠回想去年九月，當Oden未受傷前和一群人打球的景像。

"He was good. Really good. He was dunking everything he caught. Blocking
shots. Just being a presence. He would jump to block one guy's shot, the guy
would pass it, and he would go right back up and block the second guy's shot.
Special.''

"他很猛，真的很猛。他可以把他所有抓到的東西灌進籃框裡，搧個大鍋子。他可以跳起
來蓋某甲的火鍋，某甲可能把球給傳了，然後他馬上回過神，去蓋某乙的投籃。真的很特
別。"

Blake said Oden has yet to return to that level at this point in his comeback.

Blake說Oden還沒回到當初最猛的狀態。

"He's not quite there yet, I don't think, but I think he will get there,''
Blake said. "He will keep working hard. It's tough, he hasn't played against
anybody in who knows how long now. I can't imagine doing that myself. So it
will take him a bit, but he will get back to that.''

"他還沒完全恢復，至少我不認為，但我想他可以做到的。" Blake說。"他會持續的努力
，這很艱難，他已經不知道多久沒打球了，我沒有辦法想像我自己一個人去面對這情，所
以這會有點難度，但他會回復的。"
