Travis Outlaw has never been so confident in his game. But with training camp
less than a month away, the Blazers forward enters with some worries about
his shot attempts.

Last season, Outlaw averaged 11.8 shots a game, third on the Blazers behind
Brandon Roy (15.8) and LaMarcus Aldridge (15.4). Outlaw says he would like to
get around 15 shots a game this season, but wonders if that is possible. If
he starts at small forward, he knows he will have to defer to Roy, Aldridge
and Greg Oden. And if he continues to be on the second unit, he will likely
be teamed with Jerryd Bayless, a shoot-first point guard, and Rudy Fernandez,
a free-wheeling shooting guard.

上季，平均出手11.6次，在拓荒者排行第三，僅次於Roy和Aldridge。Outlaw說他這賽季

First, this much needs to be said. McMillan loves Outlaw.

要先強調，McMillan很喜愛Outlaw。

He essentially gave Outlaw the green light to shoot whenever he wanted last
season. And he has enough confidence in him that he often called crucial,
fourth-quarter plays for Outlaw. At the end of last season, McMillan said he
considered Outlaw's game-winning shot in Memphis as his favorite moment of
the season.

他上季給予了Outlaw開火權，當他想投籃時就投，然後他也對Outlaw有信心，都叫Outlaw

While McMillan wasn't thrilled to hear that Outlaw was concerned about his
shot attempts this season, he says it will be a good tool in addressing the
team about priorities this season.

"That is where we have to condition the players,'' McMillan said. "OK, we put
together this team, now how can you help this team? We may not need as many

may need defense more than his offense because of where he is playing and who
we have coming in. So, understand that that is what we need to be successful.
It's not about just your shots. You will get those. I know that you need
shots, and want shots. Everybody does. But you can't be single-minded like
that.''

沒有需要Outlaw投那麼多球，但我們過去兩年確實需要他的得分，而今年也是。但或許是

McMillan說。

Outlaw wasn't voicing his concerns in a manner to make waves, or cause a
ruckus. He was just being honest, and he did say that he just wanted to do
what it takes to win for the first time in his career. McMillan was told
that, and he understood. But he also knows shot attempts will be a major
topic with his players this season.

Outlaw真心的不想要他所關心的事情造成一些困擾，他只是誠實地表達出來，第一次表達

Outlaw, McMillan said, should not expect to get 15 shots a game, but he said
he should expect to be one of the Blazers' main weapons on the second unit.

"I know I want Travis and Rudy touching the ball, then we fill in after
that,'' McMillan said. "If Jerryd has a matchup, we go to that, but we will
go through Rudy and we will go through Travis ... if Travis is coming off the
bench.''

That last sentenced raised my eyebrow, because it was my impression that
McMillan was set on keeping Outlaw in the second unit while starting Martell
Webster at small forward. Outlaw needs to shoot to be effective, and he won't
get as many shots in the first unit. Also, Webster is theoretically a better
outside shooter than Outlaw, which will be needed when Oden and Aldridge are
on the floor together.

最後一句話，讓我眼睛亮了一下，因為在我的印象中，McMillan想要讓Outlaw打替補，
Webster打先發。Outlaw需要投籃來展現效率，而他打先發則不會有那麼多機會。同時，

But McMillan said he will let training camp decide who starts at small
forward.

"That's part of what preseason is about,'' McMillan said. "How we play,
what's the rotation, what's the combination, what plays are working ... we
won't have that figured out in November. We will be OK, and we will have it
fairly quickly, but not right away. So the players will have to settle into
something, and so will I.''

"這是就是季前該做的事情，我們如何進攻，陣容如何，怎樣搭配，該做些什麼，我們在

Still, when posed with the scenarios at small forward, it still sounded like
McMillan is convinced Outlaw is best on the second unit.

所以，回到小前鋒的話題，看起來McMillan還是相信Outlaw比較適合打替補。

"I think (Outlaw) could start,'' McMillan said. "Again, my look with Travis
could be - how do we take advantage of what he does? If he gets in that
starting lineup and feels like all he is doing is spreading, and it becomes a
problem because he is not touching the ball, then what does that do for us?

"我認為他可以先發阿，再強調一次，我認為可以，但我們得想想這有什麼優點？如果他
先發只是在場上閒晃，這會是一個問題，因為他沒什麼球可以出手，這樣對我們有什麼幫
助？" McMillan說。

"I think you can get the same thing in the second unit, but get more
touches,'' McMillan said. "Maybe you bring him in first at the four, then
slide him to the three.''

Either way, as long as Outlaw takes care of his business on the defensive
end, he should be enough of a focal point in the offense that shots shouldn't
be of concern.

所以，當Outlaw能把他在防守上面的工作完成時，他就會是重要的人物，自然而然就不用
擔心出手次數的問題了。

對於Outlaw...我覺得好好的做好自己的工作比較重要...

尤其當隊上不缺得分手時，好好把防守加強才是重點

要出手比上一季多恐怕很難，雖然很多次確實幫了拓荒者不少

但總覺得他有時打球太死腦袋點, 很多球有點濫投, 該傳的球還是堅持用高難度動作投籃

對於他的關鍵籃板反而對球隊的幫助比較大

希望這系列文章只是想表達Outlaw想向上進步的用心，而不是真的想要求什麼出手次數

任何人都希望出手多阿...可以刷數據誰不想 @@?
