Some Logic With Portland: I keep reading that Portland wants to make a move
to get into the lottery. That in itself makes sense because the Blazers have
trade pieces and draft picks they could barter their way up the selection
order if they choose, and General Manager Kevin Pritchard is never shy at
draft time.

However, the real question is why? Who is Portland's target? There has been a
lot of talk going around that it is Davidson guard Stephen Curry, but that
wouldn't seem to make sense on the surface. Why not?

來不太合理。為什麼不合理？

Curry is a guard capable of playing both backcourt positions. He is a good
ballhandler, an excellent shooter, and is a smart player. However, he is too
small to defend NBA shooting guards except in special situations, and he has
not really proven he can play the point against a high level of competition,
of which he would be facing very capable point guards every night in the NBA.
Sure, he may excel, but there is literally no reason to expect he will be a
top-flight point guard, and if you are moving up into the lottery to take
him, the assets you may have to give up to make such a leap would deem that
it be necessary Curry is that kind of talent.

Curry是個可以打雙能衛的角色，他處理球不錯，出色的射手，聰明的球員。但是他的身材
對於防守某些NBA的得分後衛來說太矮小了，而且他也還沒證明在水準高一點的比賽層次，
他能扮演好控衛的角色，尤其在NBA每晚都得面對非常出色的控衛。

Portland would not give up Jerryd Bayless in such a move, so if they followed
through they would then have Bayless and Curry as their point guards (and
perhaps still Steve Blake or Sergio Rodriguez), and I'm am far from believing
Curry will be a better point guard than Bayless. Again, what do you get up to
make that move? And is it worth it for a player who may never start on your
team? I have zero doubt Curry will be a solid contributor for a long time and
could be a starter, but it's far, far, far from a guarantee.

And that's exactly why Portland trading up to draft Curry doesn't seem to
make a whole lot of sense.

So let's assume Portland does want to trade up, but also assume Curry is not
the target. Who could be?

所以我們假設拓荒者會作向上交易的動作，但同時也假設不會選Curry。那選誰呢？

It could be Spanish point guard Ricky Rubio. The assumptions on Rubio's
future impact would be similar to Curry's, but at the same time there has
been some proof – albeit limited – of Rubio's abilities at the top level.

也有可能是西班牙控衛Rubio。然而對於Rubio未來影響力的考量就跟Curry是雷同的，
就是還有些考驗來證明Rubio在高水準聯盟的能耐。

Who else?

還有誰呢？

Well, you have to look at Portland's needs. They have the questions at point
guard, but they also have two legitimate needs: backup power forward and a
bigger reserve shooting guard. Who fits that in the lottery? Arizona's Jordan
Hill and Pitt's DeJuan Blair would seem to be solid fits at the power forward
spot. Hill has a higher upside, but Blair has the size and strength at the
four that could really give them what they need in the second unit.

恩，你可以看看拓荒者需要甚麼。他們對於控衛這位置有問題，此外他們還有另外兩個
位置有需求: 替補得分後衛&大前鋒。在樂透區的誰符合條件呢？Arizona的Jordan Hill
和Pittsburgh的DeJuan Blair看起來是符合大前鋒的位置。

Hill有比較高的身材，而Blair則有力量來擔任大前鋒，都可以提供他們在替補上的需求。

Curry may very well be Portland's target, but all that would mean is that
Portland is going to be making further changes. It's not the type of move
that would be considered solidifying the lineup, because it would demand
secondary moves to balance the roster with a nice blend of talent,
leadership, and experience.

Curry也許是拓荒者很好的目標，但這也代表拓荒者得在做更多的動作。這不是要強化陣容
的一種做法，因為還必須得再做更多的動作來調整陣容。
