The Trail Blazers expect center Joel Przybilla to join them Wednesday in
Boston and it's possible he will make his season debut Friday against the
Washington Wizards.
The backup center has battled a stomach flu for days and was too sick to
leave with the team on Saturday when it embarked on a four-game East Coast
trip. But Przybilla has recovered enough to travel and the only thing keeping
him from playing Friday is his conditioning.
Przybilla, who had two surgeries last season to repair a ruptured right
patella, has not played in a game since Dec. 22, 2009.
McMillan said he won't play Przybilla until he can go through a workout
without complication. And while the Blazers will not practice before playing
the Wizards on Friday, McMillan will have two chances to scrutinize Przybilla
before then: during the team's pregame shootaround Wednesday in Boston and
during an offday workout Thursday.
