The Pacers hired former Portland Trail Blazers general manager Kevin
Pritchard as director of player personnel. Pritchard, who helped make the
Trail Blazers a playoff team again, will work under president Larry Bird and
general manager David Morway. Pritchard's contract is for one year.
溜馬隊聘請前拓荒者GM來擔任他們的人事總管，也將會跟老戰友 Larry Bird 和
David Morway共事，合約是一年。
"Larry and I feel like Kevin is a strong addition to our franchise," Morway
said. "We're looking forward to him working with us. He's been a player,
coach and in management in this league. Those are all pluses for us."
Morway說：「Larry跟我都很期待Kevin跟我們一同工作，他的經歷包括球員、教練
以及球隊管理，我們可以借重他的經驗。」
Pritchard was fired by the Trail Blazers about an hour before the 2010 draft.
He recently told a Portland radio station that he still doesn't know why he
was fired.
Pritchard declined an interview with The Star.

Pacers Sports & Entertainment president Jim Morris made calls around the
league a few months ago asking about Pritchard as a possible front office
candidate.
Bird and Morway recently spent several days having candid discussions with
Pritchard about the direction the team is headed and how he could be a
positive addition for them.
"That's not the case at all," Bird said. "I've known Kevin for a number of
years and we're in the position to improve, and his knowledge will help us."
溜馬體育及娛樂部主管莫里斯(Jim Morris)幾個月前曾打電話詢問過Pritchard加入
溜馬的可能性。而Bird跟Morway最近討論Pritchard擔任人事管理的事宜，討論了幾
天後才決定的。Bird說：「我認識他很多年了，我們都各自在為球隊作努力，而他的
經驗能夠幫助我們。」
Bird, who wanted to retire at the end of last season, is not sure how much
longer he'll remain as president. He and owner Herb Simon have agreed that
they'll re-evaluate things on a year-to-year basis.
Pritchard, an Indiana native, and Bird were teammates with the Boston Celtics
during the 1991-92 season.
Bird去年考慮退休，他不確定他還能作多久，溜馬老闆(Herb Simon)跟他談到後來，
決定多作一年再看看。Pritchard是印地安那本地人，他跟Bird也曾在1991~1992年在
波士頓塞爾堤克一起打過球。
