Gerald Wallace's finger:
Gerald Wallace did not play in the loss to the Pistons because of a sprained
middle right finger. He suffered the injury during the Blazers’ Friday night
victory over the Toronto Raptors and was wincing in the visiting locker room
afterward as team trainer Jay Jensen removed a protective bandage.
But Wallace went through warmups Saturday and was dressed against the Pistons.
When asked about his injury after the game, Wallace declined comment. When
pressed and asked if it was his decision to sit, Wallace replied: “I always
want to play, dude. I was dressed.” McMillan said it was a coach's decision
to sit Wallace after they watched his pregame shootaround and because his
finger was too painful and too swollen.
