Some of you may have guessed why I will be in Taiwan in March.
One reason is to see my family and friends; the other is to vote for
the new president and the referendum.
I actually follow the Taiwanese news almost everyday. I feel anxious about
the furture of our country like many other people do. Therefore, I must
do whatever I can, even though it's only one vote.
Presidential election and referendum, these sort of things cannot be more than
normal in any real democratic country. However, it seems so complicated in
Taiwan. In the meanwhile, we have to suffer lots of pressure from China and
other countries. This is just our internal affair. Why do they have any right
to say anything?
Some people think this referendum is unnecessary. However, I think it is
really important. We must let the world hear our voice. The threat from China
is real and always there. I cannot believe that those shameless politicians
can tell people that we are not in an immediate danger. Well, what did the US
and UK did when they thought they were 'threatened' by Iraq? They made a war
and conquered the country. Now they know they have been wrong. There was and
is no Weapons of Massive Destruction.
Comparing with their thoughtless and aggressive acts, our government is just
using an democratic approach to expose the ridiculous situation between Taiwan
and China. Why is it wrong?
Regardless of your favorite president candidate, please support the referendum.
Let's make the future of our mother land - Taiwan!
