跟AMG一樣 3/5
Okay, it might be a dubious sign that your album title is some sort of
statement to say that your band still exists. Unbreakable, the first studio
album without Kevin Richardson, is the new album after Never gone, again a
album title with a statement. They probably mean to say that even though the
boyband-era is behind us, they (Howie, Nick, A.J. and Brian), still aren't
fed up.
And, it has to be said, on Unbreakable, at times, the boys are at their best.
The Bryan Adams-like cuddly rocksound that could be heard on Never Gone
unfortunately is still there at times. But on most songs, the group chooses
to do those things that made them famous.
Cool, dance-able popsongs that is, with lovely harmonies and lyrics that
aren't too pretentious. The beats and production are of today, but the recipe
for a good boyband-song is ofcourse timeless. And on Unbreakable, that recipe
is often extremely well performed.
The Backstreet Boys have again stretched out their expire date (with a long
amount of time).
3 out of 5 stars.
