The Brewers are close to an agreement with outfielder Christian Yelich on a
contract extension, MLB Network insider Ken Rosenthal reported Tuesday in The
Athletic. The club has not confirmed the deal, which reportedly would be for
more than $200 million over seven years.

Yelich is under contract for $12.5 million this season and $14 million next
season, with a $15 million club option for ‘22. MLB Network insider Joel
Sherman reported that the club option will be torn up and seven years will be
added to the extension for a total of nine years and $215 million.

Yelich’s reported $200-plus million deal would be the largest contract by
total value in Brewers history. Right now, it’s Ryan Braun’s $105 million
extension, which was signed in 2011.

Yelich今年合約$12.5M,明年$14M再加上後年$15M的球隊選項,

預計球隊選項會被取消並再延長7年合約

總計高達9年/$215M的合約

將會超越Ryan Braun在2011年簽下$105M延長合約,創下隊史最大合約
