Elsewhere, Taiwanese hit man Ching-Shun Yang carried on where he left
off yesterday as he made light work of 2001 champion Mika Immonen 11–5.

Yang has developed a deadly break which enables him to stay at the table
for periods of time and he made that tell against Mika.

Immonen started out well, going into an early 4–3 lead but Yang took the
next five to put some quality space between himself and the Finn.

Amazingly, in the fourteenth rack, Yang crashed home five balls off the
break but missed a relatively easy 2-ball to give Mika his chance.

Immonen ran out the rack but sadly came up dry with his next and his chance
was gone. Yang now faces Steve Davis or Earl Strickland in the quarter finals.
