有問題再和我說囉...
題目如下 :
1. (May 16) There are at least 90 serotypes of Streptococcus pneumoniae
to cause pneumococcal diseases. Although the 23-valent polysaccharide
pneumococcal vaccine was licensed in 1983, poor immunogenesity was
observed in younger children. In contrast, heptavalent
polysaccharide-protein conjugate vaccines are effective.
Could you make a detailed introduction about the conjugate vaccines?
2. (May 23) Although lysosomal storage disorders (LSD) are serious
genetic disorders, enzyme replacement therapy is currently predominant
treatment. Could you describes the disadvantages and advantages?
Also tell us how the enzyme to treat Pompe's disease is prepared?
The product is made by Genzyme Co. and was in the clinical trial Phase III
in 2004.
3. (May 30) The glycoprotein, EPO (erythropoietin), is the one of the
major products in Amgen Co. that is the most profitable biotech company
in the world. Could you explain how the protein drug is prepared?
Also tell us about the glycosylation patterns and how
they affect the therapeutic activity.
4. (June 6) For most of the sugar containing antibiotics, the presence of
sugar moieties is essential to their bioactivity. Could you use vancomycin,
erythromycin, telithromycin (HMR3647) as three examples to explain the
importance of sugar residues?
5. (June 13) Currently DNA arrays and proteins arrays are well established
for various applications. Sugar arrays are now in the developing stage.
Could you give at least two methods (developed by different groups) of
sugar arrays? Also tell us about their applications.
