BLACKBURN Rovers are likely to be without captain Ryan Nelsen for a month
after he sustained a hamstring injury in the 2-0 defeat to Larissa FC in the
UEFA Cup.
The New Zealand international pulled up shortly after half-time at the
Panthessaliko Stadium, to be immediately replaced by Zurab Khizanishvili.
It immediately looked like Nelsen had sustained a hamstring injury and this
was confirmed by boss Mark Hughes after the game.
"It is the hamstring that he had the operation on but we think it is just a
bit of scar tissue that has released itself," said Hughes
"So long term he will be better for that, we hope it is not serious, but he
is certainly going to be out in the short term, about three to four weeks.
The injury is a blow to Rovers as they have a busy schedule of fixtures ahead.
