DOC THROWS SOME BP
ROY HALLADAY took his next to last step before returning to the starting
rotation yesterday by throwing 25 pitches of batting practice.
"I'm fine, same old, you know," Halladay said afterward.
Halladay will throw a three-inning simulated game on Thursday at SkyDome
and barring any setbacks will make his first start since July 20 next
Tuesday in New York against the Yankees.
DIAMOND DUST
The North Division-champion New Hampshire Fisher Cats will take on the
Altoona Curve in the Eastern League final starting tomorrow ... With
just one road trip remaining, the Jays have yet to return to Toronto
with a winning record. The just-completed trip through Anaheim and Texas
looked to have some promise when the Jays took two-of-three from the Angels
in Anaheim. The Jays then got swept by Texas in their three-game series.
