MASON PROUD TO BE AN INFLUENCE

PINK FLOYD drummer NICK MASON is flattered the band have left such a lasting
legacy on music and inspired other acts to follow in their experimental foot-
steps. The rockers are credited with influencing bands like RADIOHEAD and
DAMON ALBARN's GORILLAZ. Mason loves to see new artists taking over where
Pink Floyd left off - but hates it when tribute acts simply copy them.
He say, "It's always rather flattering to be regarded an influence. We all
borrow from other people. "Tribute bands bother me more. Because rock and roll
was meant to be inventive."
