i have some news...news that i am still getting my head around. it
makes me sad and excited at the same time, feel betrayed but in a
way..but..baaahh..freeeeee i tell you...but...its odd...
for 2 days i have walked and listened to my new record and listened
to the VU and abba and i have heard scouting for girls on the radio..
seen ads for the pidgeon detectives on telly...and this mixed with my
mixed feelings makes me feel wooooozy....sick and to be honest.. i
have expected it but was told it would never happennn ...tho..i knew
one day it would...
EMI are not releasing my next LP. they have said that they are only
going to release big artists....i am kind of angry but i am glad too...
but...i have been dropped.
i only wish i could say i thought EMI had done a good job of my career
up to this point then maybe it wouldnt be so difficult to take.. but i
feel like they messed the last 2 albums up rather badly...along with
radio 1 who have refused to play anything from my laast 2 albums...
preferring to play bands that are more "appropriate" such as razorlight..
so..better another devil it is..
i trust my manager, he is rather progressive.. he has alot of ideas
and i know in this day and age we dont really neeeeed EMI and the like
to put our records out for us...but i was a stickler for the old
fashioned way...fond of the doggie that suddenly on a hot day has
made a meal out of my hand ...so...i feel a little adrift...but my
manager has ideas...we meet next weeek... .. he told me in a most
positive way..he didnt use the words" youre dropped" i did...cus
thats what it means.
but good news is that EMI are paying for the album and giving it to
me basically...so..its my property...it might be my most beautiful
possession...
its made a lot of thoughts fly thru my head..its like a frikkin
magicians sleeeve with doves shooting out like a devil's arse
release.
anyway.. thought i'd better tell you..it means the LP wont be released
for a good while...which pisses me off somewhat...but it means i am not
under pressure...can make art and not worry about **nty accountants
tellin me what a record should sound like or loook like..
roll on....

難怪想說這次隔那麼久都沒新專輯的消息.....
