Hey gang. Hope all is well and that ur taking care of urselves...
I know alot of u are wondering what our take on the Grammys is, and honestly
folks, we didn't put to much thought into it. Firstly, when we said that we
were just happy to be nominated, a statement made many times but most not
being very sincere, we really were happy just to be nominated. A year ago
when we released the "Hitsville" album, we expected it to do well, but we
never thought it would do as well as it did. Our approach was, "We love how
it came out, now let's see what happens with it once efforts are put into
it". Lo and Behold, a year later we sold a million albums worldwide and we
got two grammy noms! Considering the struggles we went through for the past
few years, some of u being more knowledgable about those struggles than
others, I can truly say that Christ has blessed tremendously and we are as an
organization are in a good place in our lives!! But even with all the things
we accomplished, concerning the Grammys and us actually winning, we knew we
would be the underdogs. Especially because of the other nominees. We were up
against some big names and some great music! And we got put on the ballot by
sheer grind, blood sweat and tears. We didn't have it as convenient as those
other artists. But because of that, they had they edge! Not to mention, were
in both categories with the legendary Al Green who won one of the categories
were in (Very nice man by the way). As for the Album of the year Category,
Jennifer had a pretty decent year. But unfortunately she had a very tragic
event happen to her which we all know about. Now I'm not saying she didn't
deserve it, she has an amazing voice and she's a talented performer; but to
ignore the fact that she did go thru a horrible tragedy, AND because Grammy
ratings have been slipping for the past few years which is why the first
category of the night just so happened to be the one with Jennifer in it,
would be slightly unrealistic. But again, u can't blame them. I'm sure she
would trade that Grammy in a heartbeat if it meant having her family back. So
for that, it was good that she won, and on behalf of my guys I would like to
say congratulations to her and all of the Grammy winners on Sunday. Now I'm
writing this blog just based on my own thoughts and By request from one of
the moderators of this site. I didn't read u guys' thread on the show, but I
will after I finish. So guyz, I know some of yall might be upset. I was
slightly disappointed myself if we want to keep all the 100. But hey, we
covered a lot of ground just being there. It was fun, and personally I think
we looked kinda smooth when I saw some clips of our interviews. We saw some
old friends, and I got to see my cousin Tiny who I haven't seen or spoken to
since the whole thing with her dude T.I. So all in all it was a god night.
Oh, as for the performance, it was a last minute thing that we were happy to
be apart of. Due to the whole Rihanna/ Chris Brown debacle, Justin was called
in to fill in the blanks. He called Al Green since he was being honored that
night, Keith Urban, and of course us. We got the call that we were performing
while we were on our way there!!! Another blessing in disguise. Because
whether they showed us briefly or not. Our named was mentioned at LEAST 4
times in the first ten minutes of the show, the most watched segment. For a
business advertising a product, that pretty damn nice!!! So guyz, again, I
know u might be upset, but hey, sometimes that's just the way it goes. And
either way, ya boyz' were on the winning side no mater what the outcome.
Thank u all for pulling for us, because we truly appreciate it. Now let's see
what '09 has in store. Special thought goes out to Chris Brown, God bless u
young man, I truly hope God places u in his care during this extremely trying
time in ur life! One more thing, BoyzIIMenTV will have some more clips up
next week I promise. We just been busy and I haven't had time to post
anything. So stay tuned, and I again Thank u all and we love u!!
