Premier League champions Chelsea are reportedly set to offer teenage sensation
Neymar ￡55,000 a week in order to prise him away from Brazilian giants Santos
before the close of the transfer window.
The Blues are very keen on landing the Brazil international striker and the
player himself is said to be considering the option of leaving Brazil and
joining the English giants. The Daily Mail now reports that Chelsea are willing
to offer a five-year contract to the 18-year-old.
It's also been reported that Santos held talks with the player's father, agent
and investors on Tuesday and that they failed to convince Neymar to carry on
playing for them even after offering a new deal that would have seen him earn
￡40,000 per week.
Earlier this week it was claimed that Chelsea are prepared to pay as much as
￡25 million as a transfer fee to Santos but Neymar has a release clause of
around ￡30m and the Brazilian club want nothing less than that.
